How to market your clothing line?
You have started your own clothing line and there you are, with a room full of boxes containing your t-shirts, jeans and caps. You want (and need) to sell all of it, make a profit and go for the next round.
Your test market said they love it, but how can you reach the mass market and get them to buy it?
Consider this plan:
Start small and arrange a timeframe for taking your clothing brand to national distribution.
Even if your plan was to be solely a
fashion designer, you have to face it now, you are into sales too.
While there are numerous books you can read about sales and marketing, here's a relatively simple and proven strategy that will enable you to build your market and grow your sales.
Sales target
First, identify your sales target (and stick with it).
Define your market as accurately as possible so you have a deeper understanding of exactly who you're selling to. If you are going to invest in anything, this is the right area to put your money into.

Let's say you have to sell ladies wear. Instead of all women, it may be working women with above-average incomes and kids under age 5.
If you have men clothing in stock, your target should be narrowed to a section of the men's clothing market. Instead of all men, it may be divorced men in their 40s with six-figure salaries.
The more specific you get, the more accurately you'll be able to target your sales and marketing efforts.
Once you have identified your niche, you will be able to make the best decision with regards to the best sales channels.
Sales plan
You'll need to create and develop your sales plan.
Failing to plan is planning to fail. You've heard that before, this saying is true also in the wholesale clothing business.
Write your sales plan in a way that makes sense for you. Never done that before? No problem, we all need to start somewhere.
Make sure your plan includes the following sales goals, sales activities, a timeline and a list of targeted clients.
